The Life of Mária Magdolna Bódi | Animated Short Film Series
Every time we fold our hands in prayer, the saints pray with us and for us. Hungary has given the world more than 90 saints and blesseds so far. Among them are women and men who have been beatified in recent years—people our grandparents might have met. One of them is Magdolna Bódi, who was killed for her faith and for the vow of chastity she made to God. Her story is told in a new series of short animated films released in the coming weeks.
A martyr who, during the darkest years of the 20th century, dedicated all her strength and talents to the service of God, bringing hope to those in need, to those who had drifted away from faith, and to those who suffered through the horrors of war. She was Magdolna Bódi—or as everyone called her, Magdi—who gave her life for Christ at the age of 24.
On May 23, 2024, Pope Francis recognized the martyrdom of the Servant of God Magdolna Bódi and ordered the publication of the decree. Thus, she may now be officially called Venerable. Her beatification took place on September 6, 2025, in Veszprém.
