The name of Bódi Mária Magdolna holds a special place in many hearts. It is not only the story of her martyrdom that touches people deeply, but also the pure, selfless love with which she served Christ and her fellow human beings. The testimony of one pilgrim is yet another proof that Magdi’s example still touches lives today – and that her prayerful intercession remains a source of hope for many.
“I first read about Magdi ten years ago,” begins the testimony of Viktor Havasi and his mother. “Her life story touched me deeply – her simplicity, diligence, love for family, and authentic Christian life. Not to mention her kind smile that radiates from every photograph.”
Seven years ago came the first personal encounter: the pilgrim visited Magdi’s grave to ask for her intercession. He first prayed for the successful surgery of a dear Christian friend’s mother, and later for his own mother, who had been diagnosed with skin cancer and had to undergo surgery twice.
“I also told my mother about Magdi’s life. She was deeply moved by Magdi’s example, her faith in Christ, and her humanity. After each quarterly and later half-yearly check-up, we would give thanks in the chapel of the National Institute of Oncology for the good results.”
Last week came the time for the final check-up. The good news – that his mother is healthy – was now expressed in a special way: by placing a Bódi Mária Magdolna traveler’s stone in the chapel. This small stone is more than just an object: it is a prayer of thanksgiving, a symbol of the experienced divine providence, and of Magdi’s intercession.
As the pilgrim put it:
“For me, this stone is proof that Magdi is still with us today. She intercedes, watches over us, and shows us how to share God’s love in our everyday lives.”
