A martyr who, in the darkest years of the 20th century, dedicated all her strength and abilities to the service of God, bringing hope to those in need, to those who had drifted from the faith, and to people suffering through the horrors of war. She was Mária Magdolna Bódi – or as everyone called her, Magdi – who gave her life for Christ at the age of 24.
During the 2025 Gizella Days, we once again present Bódi Mária Magdolna—the saintly young woman from Litér—as a shining example. She was to be beatified by the Church on April 26. However, due to the death of Pope Francis, the beatification has been postponed, and the liturgical celebration will take place at a later date. Still, Magdi’s life and spirituality remain present among us—as a witness to hope, love, and living faith.
