A martyr who, in the darkest years of the 20th century, dedicated all her strength and abilities to the service of God, bringing hope to those in need, to those who had drifted from the faith, and to people suffering through the horrors of war. She was Mária Magdolna Bódi – or as everyone called her, Magdi – who gave her life for Christ at the age of 24.
Bódi Mária Magdolna will be beatified in Veszprém on 26 April 2025, after Pope Francis authorised the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints on 23 May to proclaim the recognition of her martyrdom.
