Before the beatification, the relics of Bódi Mária Magdolna will be placed in the St. Imre side altar of the St. Michael’s Cathedral in Veszprém.
The Cathedral of St. Michael in Veszprém currently preserves the relics of four martyrs. After the beatification, however, another special relic will find its place here: the earthly remains of Bódi Mária Magdolna, the young virgin who gave her life in martyrdom at the age of 23.
The relics, transferred from her grave in Litér, will be enshrined in the St. Imre side altar.
In the onyx main altar rest the relics of the Hungarian Holy Family, while in the altar stones of the side altars lie the relics of four early Christian martyrs: St. Urban, St. Justin, St. Theophilus, and St. Blandina.
Now, as Magdi’s relics are also brought here, the Veszprém Cathedral will become even more the home of saints and martyrs – reminding us all of the eternal value of faith, purity, and sacrifice.
