The Magdi Hymn unites us
One of the special spiritual gifts of our preparation for the beatification is the hymn written in honor of Mária Magdolna Bódi, set to the melody of the well-known folk hymn “O Glorious Lady…” (Ho 191). This hymn is not only a song, but also a prayer and a testimony: it recalls Magdi’s beauty of life, her purity, her fidelity to Christ, and the sacrifice fulfilled in her martyrdom.
In recent weeks, many communities, choirs, and singers have responded to our invitation: they sang the hymn, recorded it, and sent it to us. From these recordings, a short film was created, in which shared faith, song, and testimony come together — proof that Magdi’s life still speaks to us today and unites us.
The hymn fittingly praises the young virgin’s faith, purity, simplicity, hope, and courage. Through the power of song, it already anticipates the celebration of the beatification, where it will also resound.
Only 7 days remain until the historic celebration on September 6 — let us prepare together with song, prayer, and grateful hearts!
