Beatification in Veszprém on April 26, 2025, the Veszprém Arena.
A martyr who, during the darkest years of the 20th century, dedicated all her strength and abilities to the service of God, giving hope to those in need, those who had drifted away from the faith, and those suffering through the horrors of war. She was Mária Magdolna Bódi – or as everyone called her, Magdi – who at the age of 24 gave her life for Christ.
During the 2025 Gizella Days, we once again present Bódi Mária Magdolna—the saintly young woman from Litér—as a shining example. She was to be beatified by the Church on April 26. However, due to the death of Pope Francis, the beatification has been postponed, and the liturgical celebration will take place at a later date. Still, Magdi’s life and spirituality remain present among us—as a witness to hope, love, and living faith.
